Good morning...it's been a while since my last blog. I guess I'm not sure what to write about lol. So, I’ll tell a little story.
When I first started quilting, I had two large dogs. Lucy (about a hundred-pound lab) and Wrigley (about 50-pound Staffordshire). Both were complete opposites, except when it came to play. My home is a smaller two bedroom and when the two of them got the zoomies, look out! Seems they would always end up on the bed…the king-size bed and they jumped so hard the mattress always needed recentered. This craziness made a lot of holes in the blankets and bed coverings that I had. Of course, at the time I was obsessed with the “bed in a bag” that wouldn’t last 6 months on their own, let alone 2 dogs wrestling.
When I learned to quilt it was definitely time to have some new “blankets” in the house and trash the cheap ones. (of course, they trashed the curtains too but I’m not making those! lol)
Now, I have Tessa a small Boston Terrier and she can be quite rough on the quilts too, but the other night, we got in bed and I was cold. Too cold and too tired to get up and turn the fan off. After about an hour I did get up and grabbed another quilt I had at the foot of the bed, unfolded it to half and laid it across my for my legs. (no I still did not turn the fan off). This was the best night sleep I had in a while. I already had 3 quilts on my bed but this was so warm and snuggly and like a weighted blanket (which I don’t make either lol)
So…the moral of this story is get a quilt…get several! You won’t be sorry. And hey! I have plenty on the website and am making more. Want anything custom designed, just let me know.
We’re here to serve!
